MMR on Ent News: Jamie Foxx Saves a life

Jamie Foxx was a real-life action hero Monday night when he pulled a man from a burning car outside his home in Hidden Valley, California. The truck skidded off the road, rolled into a ditch, and caught on fire, trapping the driver inside. Foxx rushed to help after calling 911.
“Jamie didn’t hesitate. He jumped out and ran to the car,” a member of Foxx’s publicity team told ABC News. “Jamie told CHP that he heard the accident and also a person screaming from the overturned vehicle,” an account on the Facebook page Safety for Citizens reads. Though a police reportomits Foxx’s name, it describes the action outside the actor’s home: “Two witnesses that were near the collision scene ran to the burning, overturned truck in an attempt to free the driver. One of the witnesses retrieved a rescue tool from his vehicle allowing the two citizens to break the window, cut the seat belt, and extricate the driver.” Though Foxx reportedly called 911 before approaching the vehicle, a separate witness told TMZ that the actor, fearing an explosion, dragged the driver “about 30 feet away” from the burning wreck.

MMR on Entertainment News: Stacey Dash

Stacey Dash got the masses riled up once again with her response to the controversy surrounding the 2016 Oscars. As entertainers continued to express their discontent with the lack of nominations for actors of color, Dash sat down with Fox News to give her two cents, which ended with her denouncing BET and Black History Month. Slamming Jada Pinkett-Smith and a host of others who voiced their opinions, Dash’s take led to a firestorm (as usual).
“I think it’s ludicrous. We have to make up our minds; either we want to have segregation or integration. If we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards, and the [NAACP] Image Awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re black. If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It’s a double standard […] Just like there shouldn’t be a Black History Month. We’re American, that’s it.”
One person in particular was able to see where dash was coming from, however. In a video of his own, Waka Flocka took the position that the controversial actress/news host was both right and wrong for her sentiments. Stating that she “couldn’t break down fully what she was trying to say,” the rapper echoed her feelings towards segregation with regards to the network and the month-long celebration.
“But honestly, I always felt like that,” he admitted. “Like why the f**k we got BET? BET is for black people and MTV is for white people? Think about it. Why the f**k we got Black History Month only in February? How can the people that took our history, give us our history for one month? Just think about it.”

MMR on Entertainment News: Toni Braxton biopic on lifetime

Toni Braxton Lifetime movie

Lifetime's biopic "Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart" aired Saturday night, and the 48-year-old singer and her sisters live-tweeted along with the audience to share their thoughts on the movie. In a since-deleted post, Toni's youngest sister Tamar Braxton wrote to a fan that some of the events in the two-hour movie were "not real."
In one particular scene, Toni sat her family down to tell them that producers Babyface and L.A. Reid didn't want to sign the Braxton sisters as a group; they only wanted to sign her as a solo artist. According to the Lifetime movie, Tamar took the news the hardest and stormed off worried that she would never become famous.
According to The Shade Room, Tamar tweeted about the scene to a fan writing, "It's a MOVIE not REAL or the way I recall a few things... but I was a hater at 11."
It's long been rumored that Tamar was jealous of Toni's musical success, something the 38-year-old adamantly denied.
Tamar later deleted the post, writing instead, “Jokes aside… I’m really enjoying this movie #goodjobsissy @tonibraxton and @towandabraxton [I’m] so proud 2 b apart of your amazing journey.”
