A northern Idaho police officer shot by a man who stole his patrol car died of his injuries Tuesday evening, police said.

Sgt. Greg Moore died at 5:50 p.m. at Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, police spokeswoman Sgt. Christie Wood said in a statement.
Moore was shot about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday after checking on a suspicious person in a neighborhood, Coeur d'Alene Police Chief Lee White said.
"He was out doing routine random patrols in an area that we have experienced some auto burglaries in. So he was doing what we do. It's just incredibly tragic," Wood told KREM-TV of Spokane.
Police arrested a 26-year-old man after a car chase that reached speeds of 125 mph. The pursuit ended when a police dog dragged the man from his hiding place underneath a commercial truck.

MMR on Ent News- Chris Brown in trouble AGAIN??

Las Vegas police want to talk to R&B singer Chris Brown, who has been named as a suspect in an alleged assault during an early-morning basketball game Monday.

A man told police he'd been playing basketball at the Palms Casino Resort when an argument broke out and Brown punched him. When he prepared to defend himself, he said, another man who was with Brown hit him.

"A verbal altercation on the court led to a physical fight and the victim was punched by another male subject who was later identified as 25-year-old recording artist Chris Brown," police said in a news release.

Via publicist Nicole Perna, Brown denied being involved in the confrontation.

"Chris is currently in Las Vegas as he is performing at Drai's on May 5th and receiving a Key to the Strip that day as well," Perna said in a statement. "He has a suite at the hotel that has a basketball court and invited friends to come play. An unruly individual showed up uninvited and was removed from the premises. Chris was not in an altercation with this person."

The alleged victim was treated for injuries at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center and released.

Now that the death of Freddie Gray has been ruled a homicide, the citizens of Baltimore are hoping riots will subside and things will return back to normal. As part of the attempt to restore the city to peace, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has decided to lift the 10 p.m. Baltimore curfew that she enacted during the height of the protests.

According to the Guardian, Rawlings-Blake removed the curfew today (Sunday, May 3), effective immediately.
“My goal has always been to not have the curfew in place a single day longer than was necessary,” said the mayor. “I believe we have reached that point today.”
Rawlings-Blake originally enacted the curfew as an attempt to quell the hostile interactions citizens were having with law enforcement while protesting the death of a 25-year-old African-American man named Freddie Gray who died while in custody. Outbreaks of violence and looting had become rampant in the city, but the 10 p.m. curfew did little to keep the angry protesters in their homes. Many people have been arrested for violating the Baltimore curfew, as many as 50 people on Saturday night alone.
“My number one priority in instituting a curfew was to ensure the public peace, safety, health and welfare of Baltimore citizens,” Rawlings-Blake said. “It was not an easy decision, but one I felt was necessary to help our city restore calm.”

MMR in News around the world-NYPD officer Brian Moore dies, district attorney to seek murder charge

 

New York (CNN)New York authorities will seek a first-degree murder charge against a man accused of killing a NYPD officer.

 

Brian Moore had been in critical condition since Saturday, when he and a fellow officer were shot at while trying to question a man in Queens. Moore was struck in the head; the other officer was uninjured.

 

Mayor Bill de Blasio and Police Commissioner Bill Bratton announced Moore's death on Monday.

"In his very brief career -- less than five years -- he had already proved himself to be an exceptional young officer," Bratton said. "In that career, he had made over 159 arrests protecting and serving the citizens of this city."Moore had received two exceptional police service medals.
