MMR ENT News Update on Bill Cosby

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced Wednesday that Bill Cosby will not be charged in the two cases being investigated by the office. The announcement comes a week after Cosby was brought up on felony assault charges in Pennsylvania for a 2004 incident.
In Pennsylvania, the 12-year statute of limitations allowed for Cosby to be charged almost exactly 12 years later. But in California, the statute for non-aggravated rape (rape without the use of a weapon) is six years. Prosecutors reviewing the case believe the neither Jane Doe 1 nor Jane Doe 2's allegations transpired during that window of time, according to CNN.
Jane Doe 2, revealed by her lawyer to be model Chloe Goins, alleged Cosby drugged and assaulted her in the Playboy Mansion in August 2008. Jane Doe 1 remains anonymous, but her attorney, Gloria Allred, said her client is "very disappointed" by the decision not to charge Cosby, who she says raped her client in 1965 when the client was 17 years old. "It is very difficult for a person who alleges that she is a victim to understand that there are arbitrary time periods set by law and that if allegations are not reported within that time period that it will be too late for a prosecutor to pursue them," Allred told CNN.
But the battle isn't over. Cosby's preliminary hearing in Pennsylvania is on Jan. 14.

MMR on entertainment News: Janet Jackson says she denies cancer

Janet Jackson said she doesn’t have cancer, but she isn’t specifying the illness that interfered with a concert tour.
On her Twitter account Wednesday, Jackson posted a two-minute clip from her song “The Great Forever,” followed by a personal message in which she said she’s recovering but offered no further details. She said her doctors have approved her concerts as scheduled in Europe.
“The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I’m recovering,” she posted, an apparent response to online reports that she was suffering from throat cancer.
Her announcement came less than two weeks after Jackson said she was postponing her “Unbreakable” tour to have an unspecified surgical procedure. Jackson had been next scheduled to perform Saturday in Denver. She’s scheduled to perform in Europe in March.
Her “Unbreakable” tour has been in the Top 20 global concert tour listing compiled by Pollstar.
Jackson is a member of one of pop music’s royal families, sister of the late Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five. Her 1986 album “Control” made her a music star in her own right, a disc that spawned hits like “What Have You Done For Me Lately” and “Nasty.”
The singer built a steadily successful career with hits like “If,” “All For You” and “That’s the Way Love Goes.” Last year she released the album “Unbreakable,” her first new disc since 2008.
She was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year for the first time, but she was not elected.
