Comedy Central spun out a smart, crisp three-minute Justin Bieber roast Monday night.Then wrapped it in two hours of meandering dirty jokes that were mostly about everyone else who surrounded him on the stage. It’s a gambit lifted directly from Bieber’s own pop music world. You get enough flashy other stuff going on and the audience leaves not noticing that the star only sang for 15 minutes.The problem was simple enough. For all the downloads 21-year-old Justin has sold to adoring Beliebers and all the spoiled-pop-star behavior that’s made him indispensable to tabloid editors, there just isn’t that much to work with.
